Collection: Amino acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins that are essential for our body's functions. They participate in muscle regeneration, growth and various chemical processes. There are 20 different amino acids, 9 of which are irreplaceable – our body cannot synthesize them by itself, so they must be taken in with food or nutritional supplements.

For athletes, amino acids are especially important because they help restore muscles after intense training, as well as improve endurance and promote muscle growth. BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids) – leucine, isoleucine and valine – are the most popular type of amino acid used to accelerate muscle recovery and reduce fatigue during training.

Amino acids can be used both before and after training, depending on the goal. Pre-workout they help increase energy and protect muscles, and post-workout they help muscle recovery. As with other nutritional supplements, it is important to follow the manufacturer's recommended dosage and include whole foods that contain amino acids in your diet, such as eggs, meat, and legumes.
